The Philip Low Foundation's purpose is to detect, express and preserve consciousness throughout the Universe and to engage in other scientific, educational and charitable activities.
Of particular interest is the acceleration of biotechnology by:
- Supporting quantitative and engineering training, via internships and access to conferences, for students and low income individuals to enable them to integrate the biotechnology industry, including the growing neurotechnology industry;
- Supporting the development of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions which do not require the use of non-human animals, which is slow, costly, wasteful and based on outdated Cartesian notions of non-humans as objects, which do not reflect modern — post-Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness — neuroscientific thinking.
- Supporting the access to rare and expensive biotechnologies by individuals who cannot otherwise afford them, wherever they may be.
